Raine Square presents Empowered

In Raine Square’s continued tribute of the precinct’s namesake, Mary Raine, and in acknowledgement of International Women’s Day, the EMPOWERED art installation will form a platform to appreciate and recognise the inspiring women of Western Australia’s history.

Launching on February 17, in honour of Mary Raine’s birthday and aptly concluding on March 8 in salute to International Women’s Day, the exhibition will showcase meaningful and immersive experiences emphasising female empowerment.

Aligning with Raine Square’s commitment to culture and the arts, the art installation features profiles of the tenacious women who influenced Western Australia’s landscape and culture, including Mary Raine. Raine Square commissioned local creative, Hannah Thatcher, to indulge in thoughtful colour and create vibrant, pop-art inspired portraits of each woman featured on the installation.

In addition, Raine Square visitors will have the opportunity to nominate women from the community who have helped them feel EMPOWERED. Entrants will permit both women into the prize draw to win a $2,000 Flight Centre voucher each.

The Instagram worthy activation will provide the perfect photo opportunity for visitors to share on social media with messages of empowerment to applaud and motivate females in the wider community.

To mark International Women’s Day on March 8, Raine Square visitors will be treated to purple champagne and delicious desserts as they browse the installation and pause to recognise Western Australia’s historial female figures.
