La Dolce Vita High Tea

This February, Pan Pacific Perth says “Ciao Bella!” and launches their La Dolce Vita high tea in partnership with Malfy Gin.

Drawing inspiration from the luxurious Amalfi lifestyle while celebrating the flavours of the Mediterranean, guests are invited to live ‘La Dolce Vita’ like a true Italian.

Set in the opulent surroundings of Bar UMA, the La Dolce Vita high tea experience commences on Saturday 19th February and runs every weekend until the 1 May inclusive.  Wanderlust wanderers and European summer lovers are invited to enjoy a delightful afternoon tea reminiscent of the lifestyle and experience of holidaying on the Amalfi Coast in Italy.

The Malfy Gins are distilled with Italian sun-ripened lemons, Sicilian pink grapefruits and blood oranges, as well as handpicked juniper and Italian water. The Italian-inspired cocktail collection created by the hotel’s talented mixologists are all named after the beautiful towns and landmarks found along the Amalfi Coast including Sorrento, Blue Grotto and Monterosso.

Drawing on classic Italian flavours, the savoury menu begins with a selection of canapés including a refreshing Gazpacho and a whipped herb ricotta and Parma ham blini that is delicately spiced and salty. The iconic flavour combination of prosciutto and melon features on the menu and are paired on mini skewers. A succulent marinated Fremantle Octopus with a fresh and herbaceous medley of Mediterranean Vegetables celebrates the famous seafood fare found along the region’s coastline.

With citrus holding a special place in the heart of every Italian, a highlight of the sweet treats is the zesty lemon meringue tart made of a tangy lemon curd and topped with a sweet strawberry gel and light meringue.  Limoncello mousse with a white chocolate Grand Marnier ganache features a brightly coloured orange macaron garnish, representative of the citrus fruits that grow in abundance in Italy. With a literal meaning of ‘pick me up’, a traditional Italian tiramisu rounds out the sweet treats – the delicate flavours of mascarpone and Italian custard are layered with notes of robust espresso and rich cocoa powder.

It wouldn’t be a fabulous afternoon in Bar UMA without free-flowing flutes of bubbles, and Bar UMA has two tiers for guests to choose from; Australian sparkling wine or Champagne Taittinger.

The La Dolce Vita high tea will run every Saturday and Sunday afternoon during spring from 2 – 4.30pm.  There are four packages available:
–          Free-flowing tea and coffee from $58 per person
–          Free-flowing sparkling wine from $78 per person
