28 October 2026 – 14 March 2027 | Rooftop Movies, Northbridge
There’s something about watching a movie under the stars that makes an ordinary night out feel a little more special. Add the Perth skyline, a comfy beanbag and a few snacks, and you’ve got yourself a pretty good evening.
Rooftop Movies is back for its 2026/27 season, kicking off on Wednesday 28 October and bringing outdoor cinema nights to the heart of Northbridge until 14 March 2027.
Perched six storeys above the city on the rooftop of the Roe Street Car Park, this much-loved summer spot is swapping concrete for cinema once again, with a lineup of new releases, cult classics and old favourites.
Your Favourite Movies, With a View
Forget the usual cinema seats and dark theatres. At Rooftop Movies, it’s all about settling into a beanbag, enjoying the fresh evening air and watching a film with the city lights twinkling in the background.
Whether you’re planning a casual date night, catching up with friends or just looking for something different to do after work, it’s an easy way to make the most of Perth’s warmer evenings.
And with the season running for nearly five months, there’ll be plenty of opportunities to squeeze in a movie night.
From Cult Classics to New Releases
The 2026/27 program has a little something for everyone.
Expect a mix of recent releases, nostalgic favourites, cult classics and special themed screenings throughout the season.
Kicking things off on Wednesday 28 October is the classic comedy 9 to 5, setting the tone for another summer of movies above the city.
The lineup changes throughout the season, so whether you’re keen to revisit an old favourite or finally catch that film you missed at the cinemas, it’s worth keeping an eye on the program.
You can check out the full screening schedule on the Rooftop Movies website.
Come for the Movie, Stay for the Atmosphere
Half the fun of Rooftop Movies is everything that happens before the opening credits.
Arrive a little early, grab something to eat or drink and take in the views before settling into your spot for the night.
There’s food and drinks available on-site, making it easy to turn a simple movie screening into a full evening out.
And because you’re right in the middle of Northbridge, there’s no shortage of nearby restaurants and bars if you fancy dinner before the movie or a drink afterwards.
A Summer Tradition Worth Keeping
Presented by ARTRAGE, the team behind FRINGE WORLD Festival, Rooftop Movies has become a familiar part of Perth’s outdoor entertainment scene.
There’s something wonderfully simple about the whole experience. No elaborate plans needed, just pick a movie, round up your favourite people and enjoy a few hours away from the usual routine.
It’s the kind of night out that reminds you why Perth’s warmer months are so good.
Planning Your Rooftop Movie Night
A few things are worth keeping in mind before heading up.
Screening times vary depending on the film, and tickets are sold for individual sessions, so it’s best to book ahead if there’s something you’re particularly keen to see.
Since it’s an outdoor cinema, bringing a light jacket isn’t a bad idea either. Even Perth’s warmer evenings can get a little breezy once the sun goes down.
And if you’re visiting for the first time, make sure you check the venue information and accessibility details before you go.
