12 September 2026 – 8 May 2027 | Saturdays, 5pm–9pm | Market Square Park, Subiaco | Free
There is something about a warm evening, a table shared with friends and the smell of dinner cooking somewhere nearby that makes you want to stay out just a little longer.
This spring, that feeling returns to Subiaco.
Subi Night Market is back for its 2026/27 season, bringing eight months of food, music and European-inspired evenings to Market Square Park.
Every Saturday night, the leafy park beside Subiaco Train Station will transform into a lively open-air meeting place, with more than 40 food stalls, artisan traders, live performances and plenty of space to settle in for the evening.
And after attracting more than 130,000 visitors last season, this year’s market is getting even bigger.
A Little Slice of European Summer in Subiaco
The appeal of Subi Night Market has never really been about rushing from stall to stall.
It’s about slowing down.
Grab something to eat, find a spot beneath the lights, listen to the music and watch Market Square Park gradually fill as the sun disappears.
Inspired by European village squares and long summer evenings, the market turns an ordinary Saturday night into something that feels a little more like being on holiday.
You might arrive planning to grab dinner and end up staying for cocktails, live music and a dance lesson.
That’s part of the fun.
Six New Food Vendors to Find This Season
Food remains at the heart of the market, and the 2026/27 season introduces six new vendors to the lineup.
One of the most intriguing is Cha Pang, WA’s only dedicated Thai pancake roll specialist. Inspired by a Bangkok street-food favourite, the pancakes are cooked fresh to order before being rolled around sweet or savoury fillings.
Then there’s Celtic Cravings, an Irish-inspired food trailer bringing some difficult-to-find favourites to Perth, including spice bags, chicken fillet rolls and curry cheese chips.
For something Italian, Piadina Nonna Pina is serving Romagna-style flatbreads filled with ingredients such as Prosciutto di Parma and hand-stretched mozzarella, alongside slow-cooked osso buco and braised beef cheeks.
The sweeter side of the market is expanding too.
MatchérieXO brings hand-whisked Japanese matcha and hojicha, while Emotional Support Cookies will be baking loaded cookies with molten centres.
And if you’re looking for something lighter, The Clean Canteen offers an entirely gluten-free, vegan and refined-sugar-free menu featuring açai bowls, raw treats and real-fruit ice cream.
They’ll join returning favourites including Tings, Taco Daddy, Pasta e Fagioli and Banana Leaf Filipino Cuisine, contributing to a market lineup of more than 40 food stalls alongside around 20 artisan traders.
In other words, choosing dinner may be the hardest part of the night.
Come for Dinner, Stay for the Music
This season is a
lso putting a bigger emphasis on what happens between bites.
For the first time, WAAPA is partnering with Subi Night Market, bringing students and emerging performers into the park for weekly live music and roving performances.
Expect the soundtrack to change from week to week, moving through jazz, classical music, contemporary performances and more.
Elsewhere across the season, visitors can expect outdoor movie nights, Halloween celebrations, performances connected with the Perth International Jazz Festival, giant chess and a changing program of family-friendly entertainment.
The result should make the market feel less like somewhere you simply visit for dinner and more like somewhere worth spending the whole evening.
You Can Even Learn to Dance
One of the market’s most charming traditions is returning too.
Juan Rando Dance Academy will once again host free Latin dance lessons, giving visitors a chance to learn a few steps before the pavilion turns into a social dance floor later in the evening.
You don’t need to arrive knowing what you’re doing.
That is rather the point.
Grab a partner, join the crowd and see where the evening takes you.
Meet Your Street Returns
Subi Night Market is also bringing back Meet Your Street, a community initiative encouraging neighbours to turn Saturday night into a proper local gathering.
Groups can reserve a long table beneath the market lights, bring the neighbourhood together and make an evening of it.
Local distillery Spirit of Little Thi
ngs is returning as well, serving botanical drinks from its pop-up bar as the sun goes down.
It all plays nicely into what makes the market work: food may get you through the gate, but the atmosphere gives you a reason to stay.
Make a Saturday Night of It
One of the easiest things about Subi Night Market is getting there.
Market Square Park sits right beside Subiaco Train Station, approximately a two-minute walk away, and visitors are encouraged to arrive by train, bus, bicycle or on foot where possible. Weekend parking is also available around Subiaco for those travelling by car.
That also makes the market an easy starting point for a bigger night in Subiaco.
Have dinner at the market, browse the stalls, stay for some live music and then wander further into Subi for a drink or dessert afterwards.
With the season stretching all the way from September into May, there will be plenty of Saturdays to do it.
No plane ticket required.
