The Red Bull Roam Wreckers global anti-surf contest is hitting Aussie shores for the first time ever!

The globe’s most revered lifestyle brand is bringing the world’s first participatory soft-board surf series, Red Bull Foam Wreckers to Australian shores, and the first stop is WA’s most renowned surf break, Margaret River on Saturday 18 December.

Splashing in from US shores such as Waco Texas, Kauai Hawaii, Santa Cruz California, Oahu Hawaii and Cocoa Beach Florida, the breaks of down under are about to go against some of the world’s best. After kicking off in WA, the three-part series will head east for Manly NSW on the 12 February and Gold Coast QLD on the 19 February.

With some of the world’s greatest such as Jamie O’Brien, Mick Fanning, Taj Burrow and Flick Palmateer backing the contest, the Margaret River Mouth edition is already making waves in the local surfing community.

Before your heat, you spin the “Wheel of Shred” to determine which soft-board craft you’re going to rip on. You’ll paddle out with 6-10 of your closest (new) friends all on different soft-boards and proceed to stake your claim as the most “unique” soft-board surfer of the next 15 minutes.

Freshies and pros can enjoy the experience of going toe-to-toe with big wave surfer Flick Palmateer and global icon Taj Burrow at the renowned surf break.

Not a pro? Don’t worry, this anti-surf surf contest is for any level. Catch as many waves as you want, ride them however you’d like, your goal is to have more fun than everybody else.

More of a spectator? Be part of the action from the shoreline and catch all the Vitamin SEA and D.
